Austin Allows Two Runs Or Fewer for 6th Straight Start in Washington Loss

WASHINGTON, Pa. - For the sixth consecutive start, Michael Austin allowed two runs or fewer, but he took a no decision in Saturday's loss to Lake Erie. The final score was 5-2.

Washington scored two runs in the second inning, the first of which came in on Hector Roa's 10th home run of the year. Brett Marr lifted a sac fly a few batters later to make it 2-0 Washington.

The Crushers plated two in the sixth on a two-run blast for Dale Burdick before getting to the Wild Things' pen in the seventh to plate three more and push the game to its final of 5-2.

Michael Austin's start lasted six innings and he allowed two runs, which was his fourth quality start in his last five.

James Meeker was tagged with the loss, while Pat Ledet chucked eight innings for his fourth win for the home team. Logan Lombana earned a save in the ninth.

The Wild Things and Crushers battle again in the finale tomorrow, Sunday. at Sprenger Stadium in Avon. First pitch is slated for 2:05 p.m. ET.
