SOUTHAVEN --- Phil Aucoin scored his second career hat trick and Steve Makway had a career high four points as the RiverKings rallied for a 4-3 win over the Wichita Thunder Thursday night at the DeSoto Civic Center. The win was the RiverKings' franchise record 11th straight at the DCC. The RiverKings now start a 9 game, 17 day road trip at Bossier-Shreveport tomorrow night at 7:05

The Thunder claimed an early 2-0 lead on goals by Tim Earle and Kris Wiebe. Aucoin would strike for the first two times shortly thereafter. His rebound goal at 10:55 made it 2-1. Then, just 56 ticks of the clock later, Aucoin fired a rocket past Thunder goalie Andrew Martin from above the slot for the equalizer.

Wichita scored the only goal of the second period to give the Thunder a 3-2 advantage entering the third period. After a pair of RiverKings would-be goals were disallowed earlier in the period, Aucoin completed the hat trick, and the comeback, with a redirection of Derek Landmesser's shot at 12:44. Then, just 26 seconds later, Steve Makway scored the game winner to go with his career high three assists.

Larry Sterling made 29 saves to earn his 26th win while Martin stopped 35 of 39 shots to take the loss.

The RiverKings improved to 29-8-3 and increased their lead over the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs to 8 points heading into the two games with the Mudbugs in Bossier City Friday and Saturday night.
