Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, Texas - The Laredo Bucks went 1-1-1 this past week. The Bucks beat Corpus Christi 2-1 on the road Saturday, but fell 5-4 in a shootout on Sunday to the Rayz. On Wednesday the Bucks dropped a 4-1 road decision to the New Mexico Scorpions. Laredo remains a Southern Conference best 27-10-4 with 58 points and they lead the Southeast Division by nine points over Corpus Christi with one game in hand. The Bucks are currently on a six game road trip. Laredo returns home on Friday, February 9th, against the Arizona Sundogs. The Bucks are offering season tickets starting at $125 dollars. It's 'Who Let the Dogs Out Night' as the Laredo Animal Protective Society will have dogs and cats available for adoption. Adoption fees are $70 for a dog and $45 for a cat. WHAT A MESS
- Laredo and Corpus Christi engaged in a large brawl on 01/28. As a result Bucks defenseman Kris Mallette and forward Neil Clark have been suspended by the CHL. Mallette got five games, while Clark will miss two games.
LOTS OF PIMS
- The Bucks and Corpus Christi Rayz combined for 192 penalty minutes on 01/28 as the game featured a line brawl in the second period.
BLOWN ADVANTAGE
- The Bucks blew a 4-1 lead over Corpus Christi with seven minutes to play on 01/28 and lost 5-4 in a shootout. It is the largest lead this season squandered by Laredo.
FRANCHISE RECORD
- Laredo had won seven straight on the road to set a new franchise record. The string ended in a 5-4 shootout loss to COR on 01/28. The previous record, six straight, was done twice in 2003-04 and 2004-05. Laredo is 29-13-6 in their last 48 regular season road games dating back to 05-06. The Bucks are 13-6-1 on the road in 06-07.

The loss ended the Bucks seven game point streak. Laredo remains a Southern Conference best 27-10-4 with 58 points and they lead the Southeast Division by nine points over Corpus Christi with one game in hand. Kevin Reiter allowed four goals on 34 shots and took the loss to fall to 8-3-1. David Cacciola stopped 39 of 40 shots and improved to 11-1-1. FINAL SCORE New Mexico 4, Laredo 1.

- 01/28/07 - SUNDAY - @ CORPUS CHRISTI - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks fell 5-4 in a shootout in wild game that featured goalie fights, players entering the penalty box to fight and chaotic action on Sunday at the American Bank Center. Rayz forward Ryan Carter scored a pair of goals, including the tying tally with less than a minute to go in regulation as Corpus ended the Bucks franchise record seven game road winning streak. Overall the Bucks have recorded a standings point in the last seven games, going 5-0-2. Laredo is a Southern Conference best 27-9-4 with 58 points and they lead the Southeast Division by nine points over Corpus Christi with two games in hand. Eric Marvin stopped 12 of 13 shots in 28:18 and did not factor in the decision. Kevin Reiter played the last 36:42 for Laredo allowing three goals on 22 shots, including five of seven in the shootout, and fell to 8-2-1. Ron Vogel allowed three goals on 18 shots in 28:18 and did not get the decision. Brent Zelenewich stopped 11 of 12 shots, including six of seven in the shootout and got the win to improve to 9-7-2. FINAL SCORE Corpus Christi 5, Laredo 4 in a shootout.

- 01/27/07 - SATURDAY - @ CORPUS CHRISTI - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks squeaked out a 2-1 victory over the Corpus Christi Rayz on Saturday night at the American Bank Center in front of 4,002 fans. Laredo's win sets a new franchise record with their seventh straight on the road. Goalie Kevin Reiter was terrific in net allowing just one goal as the Bucks won their third straight. Overall the Bucks have won five of their last six games, recording a standings point in all six and going 5-0-1. Laredo is a Southern Conference best 27-9-3 with 57 points and they lead the Southeast Division by 10 points over Corpus Christi. Reiter was rock solid between the pipes, stopping 33 of 34 shots and improving to 8-2-0. Brent Zelenewich allowed two goals on 29 shots and fell to 8-7-2. FINAL SCORE Laredo 2, Corpus Christi 1.

2006-07 BUCKS SINGLE GAME TICKETS ON SALE
- Single game tickets for the Bucks start at $14.95. Of the 32 home games, 25 will take place on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Game times will remain the same for the 2006-07 season. Weekday games begin at 7 p.m., while Friday and Saturday night games are at 7:30 p.m. Sunday games will be at 4 p.m.
