Granville, W. Va. - In a Sunday afternoon contest at Monongalia County Ballpark, the West Virginia Black Bears fell to the Auburn Doubledays 4-3.
Close games have been the norm during this home stand, as three of the last four match-ups have been decided by just one run.
West Virginia starting pitcher Michael Flynn looked strong through his early innings of work. The righty held Auburn without a hit through three frames, picking up a pair of strikeouts.
Then in the fourth inning, the Doubledays got on the board. A trio of singles brought three runs around to score, putting the Black Bears in an early hole.
