Washington Spirit News Release
Boyds, MD - Washington Spirit goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe's late-game reaction save against Reign FC has been voted Save of the Week by NWSL fans.
Bledsoe's Week 4 win comes in recognition of her game-saving stop in the 85th minute of Saturday's shutout effort against Reign FC at the Maryland SoccerPlex, as she turned away a Shea Groom shot from point blank range to keep the game level at 0-0.
It was one of nine saves in the game for Bledsoe, who notched her second clean sheet of the season in three games. Bledsoe has been nearly unbeatable this season, allowing only one goal in the Spirit's first three matches.
Bledsoe also won two NWSL Save of the Week awards during the 2018 NWSL season, claiming back-to-back honors in Week 4 and Week 5.
