Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack have announced the signing of Nicholas Sykora from the Sioux City Musketeers USHL.

Native to Roseland, New Jersey, Sykora was the Attack's third round pick (57th overall) in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection Draft.

"We are extremely excited to announce the signing of our third round selection in this year's draft; Nicholas Sykora" Attack General Manager, Dale DeGray says. "Nicholas is a highly skilled very smart offensive forward that we believe will add to our top six immediately. We feel Nicholas this past season in the USHL was under utilized and has a lot more growth potential moving forward. We would like to welcome him and his family to the Attack organization."

The 5'11" forward recorded 14 goals, 19 assits and 33 points in a 44 games played season with the Musketeers. Showcasing a strong offensive skill set, DeGray goes on to say he looks forward to seeing Sykora added to the ranks in Owen Sound come September time.

"I'm fired up to officially sign with the Owen Sound Attack, this is a huge moment for me" Sykora said. "From the first conversation, I could feel the passion and the drive here and I knew it was the right fit. I'm ready to give it everything I've got, grow as a player and do whatever it takes to help the team succeed. I can't wait to hit the ice, meet the fans and get this journey started!"

Along with his regular hockey season experience, Sykora has also attended the Hlinka Gretzky Cup for the USA U18 during the 2024/25 year. Playing 5 games, he recorded 2 goals paired with 2 assists for a total of 4 points.

Attack Head Coach, Scott Wray says he is excited to bring Sykora to the Attack.

"This is a big signing for our organization. Nicholas had a great year last year in the USHL with limited ice time. We're really looking forward to seeing what he can do offensively with our team and our young group. Nicholas possesses a hig offensive IQ and I think he will match very well with our players from last year who had fantastic seasons for us as young players."
