Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack has named netminder Mack Guzda the Huron Tractor Supply Player of the Week for the first week of the Ontario Hockey League season.

Guzda, a native of Tennessee, was only a rookie on the team in the 2017-18 season and this season is now the Attack's starting goalie at only 17 years old.

Although the Attack's first game of the regular season against the Barrie Colts did not fare as well, the Bears stepped up and Guzda locked in his second career shutout winning 3-0 against the Sudbury Wolves at Owen Sound's Home Opener on Sept. 22.

Guzda made 29 saves against the Colts at the Barrie Molson Centre on Sept. 20, and then continued with 28 saves in the win over the Wolves on at their home opener, their second game of the regular season, on Saturday at the Harry Lumley Bayshore.

Guzda finished the week with an .862 save percentage in one win and one loss, improving his career stats with the Attack to a record of 15-7-2-2 with a 3.30 GAA and .877 save percentage.

Video highlights of Guzda's week can be found below.

The Attack will continue the 2018-19 OHL season on Friday, Sept. 28 when they head to Guelph to take on the Storm at the Sleeman Centre, a 7:30pm puck drop. Owen Sound's next home game takes place Saturday, Sept. 29 against the Ottawa 67's, also scheduled for 7:30pm.

Tickets for that game, as well as all Attack Home Games, are available at the MacVicar & McComb ReMax Attack Box Office, online at www.attackhockey.com, or by calling 519-371-7452.

This season of Attack Hockey is presented to you by Lerner's Personal Injury Lawyers.
