Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack are back in action on home ice this Wednesday, Oct. 26, when the Guelph Storm come to town for a Midwest Division match up. After splitting a pair of road games with the Erie Otters on the weekend, the Attack return to the friendly confines of the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre for their 2nd tilt of the year against Guelph, which will get underway at 7:00pm in the Scenic City. Owen Sound and Guelph have met once already on the season, with the Storm downing the Attack 4-2 back on the 1st of October.
The Highway 6 rivals are in a dead heat at this early juncture of the season, with both teams boasting 12 points. The Attack however, sit one spot ahead at 4th in the Division due to their 6-6-0 record, while the Storm have gone 5-6-1-1 at this point on the year. Heading into Wednesday night's tilt, the Attack continue to be paced by 3rd year import forward, Petrus Palmu. Palmu has found the back of the net 10 times and has added eight assists on the year to give him 18 points, which has him 8th in the league points race as well as 5th in the goal-scoring standings.
Owen Sound is also being helped by the break out play of forward Kevin Hancock, who now has four goals and nine assists for 13 points in 12 games on the year. Hancock, who is in his 2nd full year with the Attack, scored 13 times and added 15 assists over 66 games in 2015-16, and is currently on pace to blow those numbers out of the water. After signing a standard player agreement with the club last week, Daylon Groulx will look to make his Ontario Hockey League debut for Owen Sound in place of rookie forward Aidan Dudas. Groulx will wear #11 for the Attack.
Dudas will miss the team's next few games as he suits up for Team Canada Black in the 2016 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge. Also representing the Attack at the tournament in Sault Ste. Marie is head athletic therapist Andy Brown, who will assume the same duties with Team Canada White.
