
Atlantic League Welcomes 20 Millionth Fan

(Camden, N.J., July 17, 2009) - The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball has basked in the sunshine once again in 2009, the 12th season of its existence, as they welcomed their 20 millionth fan on Thursday, July 16, bringing the all-time attendance to 20,005,528 and counting.
""We are delighted to celebrate surpassing 20 million fans coming to our ballparks in our 12th year," says Joe Klein, Atlantic League of Professional Baseball Executive Director. "Our goal every year is to provide affordable family entertainment for all Atlantic League fans and their support is what keeps us going."
The Atlantic League is comprised of eight teams, the Camden Riversharks (managed by Joe Ferguson), Somerset Patriots (managed by Sparky Lyle), Long Island Ducks (managed by Gary Carter), Newark Bears (managed by Tim Raines), Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (managed by Butch Hobson), Lancaster Barnstormers (managed by Von Hayes), Bridgeport Bluefish (managed by Willie Upshaw) and the York Revolution (managed by Chris Hoiles).
The Atlantic League has returned over 400 players back to Major League organizations and has had nearly 100 players leave the league to coach, manage, administrate or scout with Major League organizations during its twelve years of operation.
