
Atlanta United Loans Chris McCann to Coventry City Football Club

ATLANTA, GA - August 2, 2016 - Atlanta United today announced the club has loaned midfielder Chris McCann to Coventry City Football Club located in West Midlands, England until December 2016.
Atlanta United officially announced the signing of the 29-year-old midfielder on July 6 from English Championship club Wigan Athletic.
"Coventry offers Chris the opportunity to play in a competitive environment and get meaningful minutes leading up to the start of our inaugural season," said Atlanta United technical director Carlos Bocanegra. "We will stay in constant contact with Coventry and will follow Chris closely through December."
McCann, a native of Dublin, Ireland represented Ireland as a youth international at the U-17, U-18 and U-19 levels. He joined Burnley F.C. in 2005 where he made over 200 appearances and scored 27 goals and was a standout performer making 58 appearances with eight goals during the 2008-09 season. He joined Wigan Athletic on a free transfer in 2013 where he had 38 appearances and three goals in his first year and added 18 appearances in the 2014-15 season.
McMann will be added to Atlanta's roster in January 2017.
