Atlanta Dream News Release
ATLANTA, July 8, 2013 - The Atlanta Dream announced Monday that it has removed forward Sancho Lyttle from the suspended list, and has waived forward Anne Marie Armstrong. Lyttle will return to the lineup when the Dream (10-1) faces the Minnesota Lynx (8-3) on Tuesday night at 9 p.m. ET in a game that will be nationally televised on ESPN2.
Lyttle missed the past six games while leading Spain to the gold medal at EuroBasket Women 2013, a qualifying tournament for the 2014 World Championships. She was named the MVP of the tournament after averaging 18.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 1.3 blocks as Spain went 9-0 during the competition.
Lyttle averaged 15.4 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.8 steals in five games for Atlanta prior to her departure, and the Dream won all six games during her absence, matching the longest winning streak in franchise history.
Armstrong played in eight games for the Dream as a rookie in 2013. She scored three points and grabbed four rebounds in 18 minutes of action.
The two-time Eastern Conference Champion Atlanta Dream is in its sixth season at Philips Arena as part of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Dream qualified for the playoffs in each of the past four seasons, including back-to-back conference titles in 2010 and 2011.
