
Atlanta Dream Announces Inaugural HBCU and Divine Nine Weekend Celebration

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Atlanta Dream announced today the first annual HBCU Night partnership commencing with the Dream's HBCU + Divine Nine Weekend, taking place during two home games against the Minnesota Lynx (HBCU Night) presented by Georgia Lottery on July 28 and the Dallas Wings (Divine Nine Game Theme) on July 30 presented by Microsoft.
As a part of a partnership with the Atlanta HBCU Alumni Alliance, $5 from each ticket purchased from fundraising ticket experiences for these two games will go towards scholarships for metro Atlanta students. Proceeds for the July 28 game will go to the Atlanta HBCU Alumni Alliance Scholarship Fund, and funds from the July 30 game will go to the NPHC Greater Atlanta Scholarship Program.
The Dream and the Atlanta HBCU Alumni Alliance have also teamed up to award two HBCU Dream Scholarships, recognizing local female athletes who have exhibited athletic excellence on the court and in the classroom, including leadership, teamwork, dedication, resilience and confidence.
To celebrate HBCU Night on July 28, the Dream and LegacyHistoryPride (LHP) are launching an exclusive and limited retail capsule sold only at Gateway Center Arena. LHP showcases lifestyle and classic vintage clothing for Historically Black Colleges and Universities to help raise awareness and strengthen the pride of the HBCU community. The Dream x LHP collaboration will feature a hoodie, shorts, and a bucket cap.
Fans will enjoy exciting entertainment around both games including the ATL Drum Academy performing during the July 28th halftime show with fun surprises, and a special performance by the Delta Sigma Theta sorority on July 30th to celebrate Divine Nine.
Other weekend activities on the concourse include the "44th and 3rd" Bookseller, a family-owned, multicultural book and culture shop, showcasing books from black authors during both games, as well as photo booths, trading card giveaway and on-court contests.
The first 100 fans attending the July 28 game will also receive a special Atlanta Dream t-shirt designed by King Pop.
