Rome Emperors News Release
Rome, GA - The Asheville Tourists defeated the Rome Braves in game two of a four game series 6-2 Friday night in front of 2,812 fans at State Mutual Stadium.
The Tourists jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first on a two run shot by Keil Roling. Rome cut the lead in half on a solo homerun by Adam Milligan in the bottom of the inning for the 2-1 score.
In the fifth inning the Braves would tie the game as Braeden Schlehuber singled to center and Calvin Culver cracked an RBI double to left scoring Schlehuber to make the score 2-2.
Asheville would break the game open in the sixth as three runs crossed the plate. Beau Seabury and Thomas field both walked and Scott Robinson reached on an error to load the bases. Cesario then connected for a three RBI double to right field giving the Tourists a 5-2 lead. Ashville would later add one more run on an RBI double by Roling and take the 6-2 victory.
Juan Nicasio (6-1) gets the win for the Tourists pitching seven innings giving up four hits and two runs. David Francis (3-7) gets the loss for Rome.
