(Hagerstown, MD) Dan Houston struckout a season-high nine batters in seven innings in a 2-0 loss on Monday. Hagerstown scored both runs on a Charlie Fermaint single in the fourth inning with runners on second and third. Asheville finishes 5-3 on their eight game road trip and will have Tuesday off before opening up an eight game homestand on Wednesday.
Asheville (42-51, 16-8) was held scoreless for the 11th time this season on Monday. Scott Robinson and Kiel Roling both had multi-hit games in the loss. Houston (5-7) picked up the loss after allowing just one earned run in seven innings. Houston scattered ten hits and struck out nine with one walk.
Trevor Holder (1-0) tossed five scoreless innings to earn his first win of the season. Asheville will open up on Wednesday against Lakewood with Ethan Hollingsworth on the mound.
