Rome, GA - The West Virginia Power defeated the Rome Braves 8-3 in front of 2,496 fans at State Mutual Stadium Monday night ending the Braves eight game home stand.

Rome scored quickly in the first inning when Joel Campusano singled to right, moved to third on a single by Jahdiel Santamaria and then scored when Santamaria was caught stealing giving the Braves a 1-0 lead.

The Braves would add to their lead in the third. Ryan Barba led off with a walk and later scored when Santamaria grounded out for the 2-0 lead.

In the fourth inning the Power would score three runs to take the lead highlighted by a run scoring double by Austin McClune. In the bottom of the fourth Rome would tie the game. Matt Kennelly started the inning with a walk and scored when Ryan Barba was hit by a pitch with bases loaded tying the game 3-3.

West Virginia took the lead for good in the fifth with three runs highlighted by an RBI double by Robbie Grossman and a two RBI single by Greg Picart for the 6-3 lead. The Power would score two more insurance runs in the sixth and cruise to 8-3 victory.

Noah Krol (2-0) gets the win for the Power and David Francis (3-5) gets the loss for Rome.

Roster Moves: Pitcher Tommy Hanson has rejoined the Atlanta Braves roster and Rome receives pitcher Michael Mehlich from Myrtle Beach of the Carolina League.
