
Armor to Host Superheroes & Fairy Tales Day Sunday

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Ever wanted to escape reality; to pretend to be Superman or Snow White? Now's your chance as the Springfield Armor, presented by MGM Springfield, hosts Superheroes & Fairy Tales Day, presented by Health New England, on Sunday, March 2 for a 3:00 p.m. tip against the Canton Charge.
With a multitude of various superheroes and fairy tales on hand as well as a best-dressed contest for the fans that wear their best superhero and fairy tale costumes to the game, the day is sure to capture the feel of a comic book or bed time story. Also included in the day will be several superhero activities on the concourse as well as face painting and a photo booth to relive the day's fun!
The Armor will also pay tribute to Women & Sports Day on Sunday by hosting a special Court of Dreams event prior to the game as well as honoring 2013 Division III Volleyball Capital One Academic All-American of the YearR and Springfield College student-athlete,Tessa Smolinski, with an on-court ceremony to celebrate her national accolade.
Fans are encouraged to bring change donations to the game in support of the Baystate Children's Hospital and 94.7 WMAS Radiothon's Change Hero Program. The Armor teamed up with Baystate Children's Hospital and 94.7 WMAS to provide a special ticket offer in which a portion of the proceeds from a discounted $8.00 Baseline General Admission ticket benefit the 13th Annual WMAS Radiothon for Baystate Children's Hospital. The discounted ticket offer will be accepted in-person or over the phone through February 28 at the Armor offices, but will not be available at the MassMutual Center Box Office. The Armor will also recognize Miracle Kids from Baystate Children's Hospital on the court as a part of the Change Heroes initiative.
The organization will continue to collect donations at the game as Pioneer Valley Credit Union, the official Change Hero Sponsor, will provide a coin counting machine for all fan donations in the lobby of the MassMutual Center - Check your piggy bank, car or couch and come show your support!
With all the activities already included for Sunday's game, the Armor would also like to remind all Big Y Kid's Club members that the March 2 game on Superheroes & Fairy Tales Day is the final Kid's Club game of the season. Kid's Club members can show their official membership card for a FREE Baseline General Admission ticket to the game!
The Armor will begin a four-game homestand to span five days on February 27 with a 7:00 p.m. tip-off against the Austin Toros, presented by Comcast. The homestand will also include Brooklyn Nets Night, presented by Big Y, on February 28 at 7:00 p.m. against the Toros as well as Superheroes & Fairy Tales Day on March 2 at 3:00 p.m. against the Canton Charge.
