
Armor Make Changes To Roster During All-Star Break

SPRINGFIELD, MA, February 16, 2010- The Springfield Armor today announced that they acquired guard Tony Bobbitt and forward Noel Felix from the Maine Red Claws in exchange for guard Morris Almond and forward TJ Cummings.
Bobbitt, the 6-4 guard from Cincinnati, was selected 8th in the 7th round of the NBA D-League Draft this season. While at Maine, Bobbit played in 30 games and averaged 12.2 ppg and shot 43% from 3-point range. Felix, a 6-6 forward from UNC -Wilmington, was selected 9th in the 6th round of the NBA D-League Draft this season and played in 30 games as well and averaged 9.2 ppg.
In another move, the Armor also signed former Gonzaga University guard Dan Dickau from NBA D-League waivers and immediately traded him to the Ft. Wayne Mad Ants in return for guard Kyle McAlarney. The former Notre Dame star, McAlarney, stands at 6 feet and has played in 23 games for the Mad Ants this season. He has averaged 10.5 ppg and is currently ranked 6th in the league for 3 point field goal percentage, shooting 48% on the season.
To make room for McAlarney on the roster the Armor released guard Maurice Maxwell.
"As a team we needed to make changes to our roster,"Â said Head Coach and Director of Basketball Operations Dee Brown, "We needed to change our focus for the second half of the season and continue to grow as a franchise and as a team. I expect an improved defensive approach and a stronger post presence on offense for the second half of the season from this team."Â
The Armor take on the Reno Bighorns this Friday and Saturday, February 19th and 20th at the MassMutual Center. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m. Tickets are still on sale and can be purchased by logging on to www.armorhoops.com or by visiting the MassMutual Center Box Office. Box Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9-5, Saturday, 10 to game time.
