PHOENIX - The Arizona Rattlers will participate in several community events throughout Phoenix for the holidays. They will begin the holiday season by reading to children at Shaw Butte Elementary School, tomorrow at 8 a.m.
Other holiday events that players and staff members will be a part of including ones partnered with are, The Society of St. Vincent De Paul's, Phoenix Children's Hospital, The Salvation Army and UMOM New Day Center.
"It is important to all of the Rattler organization to give something back to the community," Rattler owner and chief executive officer Bob Hernreich said. "Every little bit makes a difference, so we look forward to being a part of these holiday events."
Offensive/defensive lineman Vince Amey will partake in the âSt. Nick's Project' by reading to children at Shaw Butte Elementary School on Tuesday, Dec. 6. Rattler players will be signing autographs at the Phoenix Children's Hospitals âKids Rock Stars' family event at Machan Elementary School on Tuesday Dec. 13. For more information on this event, please visit www.kidsrockaz.com.
Fullback/linebacker Frank Trentadue and members of the Rattlers front office staff will be serving food to the less fortunate at the Society of St. Vincent De Paul's on Thursday, Dec. 15. On Monday, Dec. 19, Trentadue and quarterback Sherdrick Bonner will be signing autographs and serving lunch at the âHoliday Kids Celebration' at Cooperstown. The children, selected from Valley families who have sought help through The Salvation Army, will receive sports-related gifts. The event will benefit over 200 underprivileged children. The Rattlers will kick off their 15th season in the 20-year-old Arena Football League on Sunday, January 29 at 2 p.m. on the road against the Los Angeles Avengers at STAPLES Center. The Rattler home opener will be on Friday, February 3 at 7 p.m. versus the Austin Wranglers. Nine-game season ticket packages can be purchased by calling 602-514-8383.
