Arizona Rattlers News Release
MESA, Ariz. - The Arizona Rattlers are pleased to announce the re-signing of KICKER FABRIZIO SCACCIA.
Scaccia kicked in 10 games for the Rattlers in 2010, connecting on 69-of-74 PATs and scoring a total of 72 points for the squad.
"Consistency is what we are looking for and Fabrizio can deliver that," said GM/HEAD COACH KEVIN GUY. "It also helps that he will be another contributor to the great character that we have in our locker room."
In December 2010, Scaccia joined the San Francisco 49ers of the NFL. He spent the last two weeks of the season on the 49ers' practice squad, and was signed to a contract in January 2011.
Beyond his 2010 play in the AFL and NFL, Scaccia also kicked for the United Football League's Sacramento Mountain Lions in 2010. He converted on all 17 of his PAT attempts and was 12-of -16 on field goal attempts for the Mountain Lions, with a season long of 54 yards, tying the UFL's longest field goal record.
Scaccia played for the Treasure Coast Bobcats of the Florida Football Alliance from 2007-2009. With the Bobcats, Scaccia netted a 68-yard field goal that is believed to be the second longest in organized-football history - and the longest without a kicking tee.
