
Grieb, Goodson Earn Week 5 AFL Honors

SAN JOSE - The SaberCats today announced QB Mark Grieb and WR/DB Samora Goodson have earned Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Game and NiFTy Playmaker of the Game for Week 5, respectively.
"Our offense has been one of the strengths of our team this season and I'm happy to see our players getting recognition for their hard work on the field," said Owner/Head Coach Darren Arbet.
Grieb (6-2, 200) threw for 279 yards and five touchdowns on 25-of-33 passing (75.8%) and a 140.0 passer rating in a 75-55 victory over the Utah Blaze. He finished a perfect 16-for-16 in the first half. On the season, Grieb has thrown for a league-high 1,511 yards connecting on 70.5 of his passes for a 122.1 rating.
Goodson (6-3, 205) continued his stellar play after his third game with at least 100 yards receiving after totaling 11 receptions for 113 yards and a career-high four touchdown grabs. He currently leads the team in receptions (35) and receiving yards (469) for a 13.4 average per reception.
