Philadelphia Soul News Release

(Philadelphia, PA) - The Autism Support Foundation (ASF), a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds to support those struggling with autism, today announced that it has developed a strategic partnership with the Philadelphia Soul, Philadelphia's own Arena Football League Team. Five dollars from every ticket sold to the Soul's home opener on April 15th against the Tampa Bay Storm will benefit ASF when the code "ASFSOUL" is used.

"We are very excited about this partnership because every dollar we raise from this game will go directly to help individuals with autism," said Tim Daniels, Chairman of the Board of The Autism Support Foundation. "We are very excited that the Philadelphia Soul recognizes this need and is supporting us in getting funds into the hands of people who need them."

The Autism Support Foundation was founded to provide financial support and educational resources to children and adults with autism. It provides focused funding that goes directly to benefit the families, service providers, professionals and educational institutions that live and work directly with individuals with autism. ASF has already provided autism educational curricula to schools in the Philadelphia area as well as iPads that can help individuals with autism better communicate. The organization is 100 percent volunteer-driven.

"The Philadelphia Soul are proud to assist the Autism Support Foundation with their fundraising efforts and are glad we are able to offer them the opportunity to raise funds while promoting autism awareness and also offering a fun night out to their donors," said Melissa Deyman, Director of Community Relations for the Philadelphia Soul. "We look forward to having supporters of both of our organizations at our first home game of 2011!"

At the game, ASF will make a donation of autism education curriculum on behalf of the Philadelphia Soul to Dudley Elementary School, in Camden, NJ. The school currently has 10 self-contained autism programs with approximately six students in each program. The curriculum was developed by Star Autism Support and teaches children with autism the critical skills identified by the 2001 National Research Council. The ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) instructional methods of discrete trial training, pivotal response training and functional routines form the instructional base of this comprehensive program for children with autism. It is valued at $1,000.00. More information on autism education can be found at www.starautismprogram.com.
