YOU HEARD IT FROM THE HOTSHOTS:
Coach Neuheisel on depth chart development: "We're looking at combinations. We're not making any decisions yet. But certainly those kinds of decisions have to start to be made as we get back from a break on Monday. We're trying different combinations and seeing who plays well with whom and so forth. One more day of pads before we makes some decisions, and then obviously, the competition will continue."
Coach Neuheisel On defense making plays in practice: "We need to make plays on defense just like we need to make plays on offense, and playmakers is what we're looking for. There's a ton of guys that have done some really cool things so far. But when the ball's in the air, it's got to belong to one of the white shirts (defense). But as the head coach who's spending the time on offense, I need to make sure that I participate in their celebration when they get that turnover."
CB Jaleel Wadood on defense playing well Thursday:"Us being the defense, we feel like we need to control the tempo in practice and how the game goes. So every time we step on that field it's all tilt. Green light."
CB Jaleel Wadood on defense's energy:"You've got to communicate. Communication is key back there. If one person plays good then I play good. If I play good then he plays good. It's all a team effort."
