Connecticut Sun News Release

Uncasville, CT - At Connecticut Sun's home opener and 20th Anniversary celebration, plenty of fans could be seen wearing a t-shirt with the Sun's current and former logos on the front. These logos, positioned on the shirt along a circle amongst the words "Revolution of the Sun" and the corresponding years that each logo was created, are a nod to the 20 years the Connecticut Sun franchise has lit up Uncasville. These shirts, given to the Sun's 2022 Season Ticket Members, are a fun reminder to many of the people whose constant love and support of the Sun has brought the franchise to its 20th season.

The creator of that shirt, Ari Tannenbaum, is a season ticket member herself and a custom clothing designer. Ari's journey in clothing design started with her making jackets for herself-her first jacket being a Black Lives Matter coat that took her three weeks to make, due to her painstaking hand-painting of each victim's name. After making several pieces for friends and family, Tannenbaum realized the power of making custom clothing to fit people's personalities and came up with Kustom Me by Ari, a brand that she says represents the client. Later on, she would create jackets for Jasmine Thomas and DeWanna Bonner's twin daughters, Cali and Demi.

"When I was asked to do the shirt, I was honored that the Connecticut Sun thought of me to do it. I have loved the Sun, but to be able to design something for an organization that is so amazing and so family-oriented is everything. Every opportunity I have had to spend time with the players, they make me feel like family. The players make me yearn for the sport. They make me want to be a part of the team." - Ari Tannenbaum
