Jackie Young Named WNBA Western Conference Player of the Week

New York - The WNBA announced today that Las Vegas Aces forward/guard Jackie Young is the Western Conference Player of the Week for games played from May 16-22. It is the first player of the week award for the fourth-year pro.

Aces All-Time Player of the Week Honorees

The first overall selection in the 2019 WNBA Draft, Young averaged 21.4 points, 3.7 assists and 2.7 steals on the week, while connecting on 55.3 percent of her field goal attempts, 50.0 percent of her three-pointers, and 88.2 percent of her free throws. Las Vegas went 3-0 on the week, and has won four straight games.

Young is a key reason that the Aces are 6-1 overall, and sitting atop the WNBA standings. She is averaging career highs in scoring (19.3 ppg), steals (2.00), field goal percentage (55.4%), three-point field goal percentage (45.5%), and free throw percentage (86.8%). Per BasketballReference.com, she leads the WNBA in Win Shares, is third in Offensive Efficiency, and sixth in Player Efficiency Rating. She is also first in the league first in free throws made and attempted.

The Aces complete their four-game home stand, today, Monday, May 23, with a 7 pm PT tip against the Los Angeles Sparks.
