Toronto Argonauts News Release
Toronto - On the day that single-game tickets for all 2013 Toronto Argonauts home games go on-sale to the general public, the Argonauts also announced that a limited number of tickets will be made available for purchase by the general public to the June 20 pre-season game at Varsity Stadium.
The club has opened up a special block of tickets for the pre-season game which will be general admission - standing room only - on field level, and will be $30.00 each. These tickets will be available in limited quantities so fans should act fast!
Single-game seats, including tickets to the June 20 pre-season game, will officially be available for purchase today, Saturday, June 1 at 10:00 a.m. ET when fans can call Ticketmaster, log on to argonauts.ca, or visit the box office at Rogers Centre Gate 9.
The 100th Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts home opener is scheduled for June 28 when the club will host a 100th Grey Cup championship celebration, including raising the championship banner at Rogers Centre. Returning from winning the club's Canadian Football League leading 16th title, Coach of the Year, Scott Milanovich is primed and ready to lead his team to another championship in 2013! Coming back to energize the crowd is 100th Grey Cup game MVP RB Chad Kackert. CFL Most Outstanding Player KR/SB Chad Owens is back to shatter more records as is star QB Ricky Ray who recently signed a long-term contract extension with the Double Blue! The defence is ready to defend the Cup led by Argonauts Most Outstanding Defensive Player LB Marcus Ball, high energy LB Brandon Isaac, and defensive captain S Jordan Younger.
The Argonauts kickoff pre-season in historic fashion when, for the first time in 55 years, a CFL football game will be played at the hallowed grounds of Varsity Stadium in downtown Toronto. For one game only, Argos fans will conjure up memories of greats like Joe "King" Krol, Les Ascott and Ulysses "Crazy Legs" Curtis at the place that hosted 30 Grey Cup championships, including nine Toronto Grey Cup wins.
On Friday, August 23, the Argos will feature a reunion of the 1983 Toronto Argonauts championship team, which brought the Grey Cup back to Toronto after a 31 year absence. 19 players from that storied team have already confirmed their attendance including QB Condredge Holloway, WR Terry Greer, and OL Dan Ferrone. Also making a special appearance will be head coach Bob O'Billovich - the architect of the team.
Fans of the Argos are invited to follow the Double Blue on social media platforms including Facebook (ArgosFootball), Twitter (@TorontoArgos), Instagram (TorontoArgos) and YouTube (Toronto Argonauts channel) to connect with other fans and engage in the conversation.
