Arevalo, Lukins Promoted to Active Roster

PHOENIX - The Arizona Rattlers promoted FB/LB Erik Arevalo and WR/DB Tony Lukins from the practice squad to the active roster, Head Coach Gene Nudo announced. The team also waived WR/DB Josh Golden.

Arevalo (6-foot-5, 280 pounds) is an Arena Football rookie who will be eligible for his first official action this Saturday in New York. The former Azusa Pacific player joined the Rattlers in training camp and was signed to the practice squad prior to the regular season. Arevalo is an impressive athlete who trains in Combat Submission Wrestling.

Lukins (5-foot-10, 185 pounds) joined the Rattlers as an addition to the team's practice squad on Apr. 10, 2007. The former New Mexico State Aggie is in his third AFL season, having played with Chicago in 2005 and splitting the 2006 season with the Rush and Las Vegas Gladiators. Lukins has also spent time with the NFL's Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears, in addition to the Rhein Fire of NFL Europe.

Golden (5-foot-10, 176 pounds) tallied 15.5 total tackles (14 solo) and a pair of passes defensed in three games after being activated from the practice squad on Mar. 29, 2007.

The Rattlers hit the road for their second consecutive away game this Saturday in New York where they'll battle the Dragons. Kickoff is at 4 p.m. (Arizona Time) and the game is available on FSN Arizona, ESPN Radio 860-AM KMVP and online at azrattlers.com.
