BOISE, Idaho - Danny Lopez gapped an RBI double in the top of the eighth inning, part of a three-run Everett rally, as the Aquasox defeated the Boise Hawks, 8-6, before 2,450 fans at Memorial Stadium.
Trailing 6-5, Mario Yepez led off with a double and an out later, scored on a Patrick Brady RBI triple. Lopez then laced a ball to the gap to pick up Brady, as the Aquasox won for the second straight night.
Nolan Diaz tossed three shutout innings to pick up the win, stranding runners at first and third in the ninth by striking out Paul Hoilman and Reggie Golden to end the game.
Everett jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the fifth, but the Hawks rallied for six runs in the bottom of the frame, taking the lead on a Golden run-scoring single.
The Aquasox tied a season high with the eight runs and with each starter recording at least one of the 18 hits, including three hits each by Brady and Jharmidy DeJesus. Rafael Lopez and Wes Darvill each had two hits in the loss for Boise.
Game 4 of the series is tomorrow night, with Willengton Cruz getting the start for Boise opposite Jordan Shipers at 7:15 p.m.
