Everett AquaSox News Release
EVERETT, Wash. - The AquaSox pitchers turned in a top-notch performance and Yojhan Quevedo had four RBIs to lead the Frogs over the Spokane Indians 8-1 on Thursday, July 23, at Everett Memorial Stadium. Quevedo was 3 for 4 at the plate with a double and a home run.
Anthony Misiewicz got the Everett pitching staff off to a great start with four scoreless innings, no runs, one walk and seven strikeouts. Andrew Moore threw three innings in relief with only two hits, one run, no earned runs and two strikeouts. Joey Strain closed out the final two frames with two hits allowed and one strikeout.
The AquaSox had very prolific fourth inning, when they scored four of their eight runs. Erick Mejia crossed the plate first on a Drew Jackson double, and Braden Bishop singled to score P.J. Jones and Jackson. Quevedo doubled to score Bishop, all before an out was recorded in the inning.
Jackson added to his league-leading steals total, swiping second in the first, and third in the fifth. His total is now at 20 stolen bases nearly halfway through the season.
In the eighth, Quevedo put the game away for good with a big two-run home run over the left field wall, scoring Bishop. Bishop scored three and drove in two of his own for the Frogs.
The AquaSox and Indians are at it again at 7:05 p.m., Friday, July 24, in Everett. There will be an AquaSox baseball giveaway for the first 1,000 fans, presented by Cloverdale Celebrating 100 years, and post-game fireworks presented by Mattress City.
