Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release
GRAND CHUTE, WI - Antoine Kelly is heading to Los Angeles. The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers left-handed pitcher has been selected to participate in the 2022 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game at Dodgers Stadium on Saturday, July 16. The game is a seven-inning game that features top prospects in Minor League Baseball as a kickoff to the All-Star Week festivities.
Kelly, who is scheduled to start tonight for the Timber Rattlers at South Bend, is the Midwest League leader in strikeouts with 100 in 76 innings pitched. Kelly, who was selected in the second round of the 2019 draft out of Wabash Valley Community College by the Milwaukee Brewers, is rated by MLB Pipeline as the #14 prospect in the Brewers system.
Kelly will have company at the Futures Game with fellow Brewers prospect Jackson Chourio of the Carolina Mudcats joining him on the National League team.
This is the seventh time a Timber Rattler has been named to play in the Futures Game in the same season he has played for Wisconsin. The previous six are: Chris Mears (1999), Craig Anderson (2000), Shin-Soo Choo (2002), Phillippe Aumont (2008), Bret Lawrie (2009), and Tyler Thornburg (2011).
There have been 28 previous Timber Rattlers or Rattlers alumni named to a Futures Game roster since the game started in 1999. Kelly is the 29th to make it to the Futures Game.
The Timber Rattlers are currently on a twelve-game road trip to South Bend and West Michigan. The next home game for the team is Friday, July 23 against the Beloit Sky Carp. Tickets remain for that game and all remaining home games at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. Tickets are available at the Ticket Office during regular business hours in person or over the phone at (920) 733-4152 Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Online purchase through the team's website is also an option.
