Lubbock Renegades News Release

The inaugural Lubbock Renegades of the arenafootball2 completed their final roster moves prior to this weekend's tilt with the Arkansas Twisters, as they were assigned lineman Jared Williams and re-assigned defensive back James McCoy once being activated off the injured reserve list.

Williams is the youngest member of the Renegades at just 20 years old. The Galveston, Texas native redshirted with the Texas Tech Red Raiders in 2004 and appeared in seven games in 2005, where he obtained 6 tackles (4 solo) on the season and forced a fumble against Texas. He left the Red Raiders in 2006. Williams is a product of LaMarque High School (LaMarque, TX) and was part of their 2003 16-0 State Championship Team.

McCoy only appeared in two games with the Renegades after suffering a leg injury in Arkansas in the Renegades second game of the season. In the two games, the South Mills, North Carolina native had 11 tackles (8 solo), an interception and three pass breakups defensively, and 148 return yards on special teams with 191 yards produced on nine kickoff returns and 57 produced on two missed field goal returns. He has produced the Renegades lone kickoff return for a touchdown, completing the task with a 51-yard return in the opening contest at Amarillo.

The Renegades return to action this Saturday night with a 7 p.m. kickoff at ALLTEL Arena in North Little Rock, Arkansas against the Arkansas Twisters. Their next home game is scheduled for June 23rd against the Amarillo Dusters. Individual ticket and corporate sponsorship information is available by contacting the Renegades office at (806) 744-5858.
