JACKSONVILLE, Fla. â The Suns return to Jacksonville on Friday, June 13 to host the Greenville Braves for a four-game set at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The homestand also marks the last games of the first half of Southern League play.
At Friday's 7:35 p.m. game, the first 1,500 fans through the gates will receive a free set of 2003 Suns baseball cards! It's also Scouting in the Outfield night! Scouts will be pitching their tents on the outfield of the Grounds and enjoy a special night under the stars. Friday's festivities are sponsored by All-Sports Collectibles and Fox 30 WAWS. Following the game, fans will enjoy Friday Family Fireworks, sponsored by NAPA Auto Parts and your local NAPA Autocare Center Dealers.
On Saturday, the first 5,000 fans will receive a set of the very popular Cheerstix and the Suns honor the U.S. Army's Birthday as the home team will wear a commemorative camouflage jersey for the entire game. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on these game worn jerseys in a silent auction during the game with the top three jerseys to be auctioned off live after the game. A portion of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the Army's Family Assistance Program. The 7:05 p.m. game is sponsored by the U.S. Army, Coca-Cola, First Coast News 12 & 25 and WAPE 95.1 FM.
Fathers are the focus on Sunday afternoon at 3:05 p.m. when the Suns celebrate Fishing on Father's Day! The first 1,000 dads will get a free Suns fishing cap, sponsored by the Bellsouth Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament and AM 930 The Fox. Come see the first place boats and register for the chance to win a free entry into the Kingfish Tournament. The kids are not forgotten on Sunday, as they will have the opportunity to run the bases after the game, courtesy of Peter Piper's Pickles.
The Suns finish up the first half of play on Monday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. with the first Camp Day of the season. Many summer day camps are expected to attend the game and it's a great chance for retirees to attend a special afternoon game.
