
Angels Recall Budde, Johnson Joins Bees

SALT LAKE CITY (July 7, 2008) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has recalled catcher Ryan Budde and promoted catcher Ben Johnson from double-A Arkansas to triple-A Salt Lake.
Budde, 28, has appeared in 37 games for the Bees in 2008, hitting .200 with six doubles, two triples, two home runs and 19 RBI. This is Budde's first trip to the Majors this season. He made his major league debut for the Angels on July 31, 2007. The Midwest City, Okla. native was originally selected by the Angels in the 12th round of the 2001 draft.
Johnson, 26, has appeared in 84 games for the Travelers in 2008, hitting .267 with 16 doubles, one triple, 20 home runs and a league leading 71 RBI. The Seattle, Wash. native was originally selected by the Angels in the 23rd round of the 2004 draft.
