Angels Recall Arredondo, Option Adenhart to Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY (May 13, 2008) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has optioned right-handed pitcher Nick Adenhart to triple-A Salt Lake and recalled right-handed pitcher Jose Arredondo to the Angels from Salt Lake.

Adenhart, 21, appeared in three games for the Angels in 2008, owning a 1-0 record with a 9.00 ERA. He earned his first major league win last night against the Chicago White Sox. The Silver Springs, Md. native owns a 4-0 record with a 0.87 ERA in five games with the Bees this season. Adenhart was originally drafted by the Angels in the 14th round of the 2004 draft.

Arredondo, 25, has appeared in 15 games for the Bees this season, registering a 1-1 record, 2.12 ERA with 10 saves in as many opportunities. He was first called up by the Angels on April 26, but did not play in a game for the Halos. The Dominican Republic native was signed by the Angels as a nondrafted free agent in 2002.
