Andrea Ring Shoots a Hole in One to win $10,000 at Raider Golf Classic

$10,000 at Raider Golf Classic! Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - The 11th annual Prince Albert Raider Golf Classic featured hot weather, a record number of teams (31) and the first ever Hole in One at the event yesterday at Cooke Municipal Golf Course.

Andrea Ring, wife of Raiders Radio colour commentator Martin Ring, aced the 150 yard 4th hole at Cooke, using her #4 Hyrbrid and was presented with a cheque for $10,000 by Tim Longworth of Cornerstone Insurance.

17 year-old defenceman Emerson Hrynyk led his team from Grants Liberty Tax Service to the tournament win shooting 14 under par. They tied with the BTR Financial team, captained by veteran forward Brandon Herrod, but Hrynyk's team was declared the winner on retrogression. All 27 players still on the Raiders pre-season roster took part in the annual event.

Over $5,000 was raised during the day for the Raider Education Fund.

The Raiders return to the ice this afternoon for practice at 1:00 PM in preparation for their exhibition game tomorrow night when they entertain the Medicine Hat Tigers at 7:00 PM at the Art Hauser Centre.

18 year-old defenceman Ryan Button will depart tomorrow headed for the Boston Bruins NHL Training Camp. Button was the Bruins second selection in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, going in the third round, 86th overall.
