Anchia's Six RBIs Lift AquaSox to Sixth Straight Win

HILLSBORO, Ore. - Jake Anchia drove in six runs in the first two innings while starting pitcher Tim Elliott only allowed two runs over 6.1 innings as the Everett AquaSox (46-22) won their sixth consecutive game with an 8-3 win over the Vancouver Canadians (32-38).
HOW IT HAPPENED
Anchia hit a grand slam in the first inning, scoring Jack Larsen, Patrick Frick and Cade Marlowe to give the Sox a 4-0 lead. The 'Sox added a fifth run in the inning when Dariel Gomez scored on Joseph Rosa's triple. Anchia struck again the next inning when he hit a two-run double off the center field wall, scoring Larsen and Tyler Keenan to make it a 7-0 game. Gomez doubled home Anchia one batter later to make it an 8-0 game after two innings. The AquaSox were held scoreless over the final seven innings.
The Canadians finally got on the board in the seventh inning when Zac Cook hit a two-run single that scored Will Robertson and Philip Clarke. Vancouver added on one more run in the eighth inning when Eric Rivera singled home Spencer Horwitz for the game's final run.
WRAPPING IT UP
Anchia finished the night with a grand slam, double, two runs and six RBIs. Larsen scored twice and reached base four times with a single and three walks. Elliott improved his record to 5-2 on the year, going 6.1 innings, allowing two hits, two earned runs, four walks and three strikeouts.
The AquaSox have won nine consecutive road games, outscoring their opponents 79-26. The AquaSox have a +193 run differential (488-295) this season, the best in all of professional baseball. The Tampa Tarpons of the New York Yankees organization (Low-A Southeast League) have the second-best mark with a +177 differential.
LOOKING AHEAD
Game five of the six-game series is Saturday, July 24. The AquaSox will start RHP Fred Villarreal (1-1, 3.42 ERA) while the Canadians will counter with RHP Brian Rapp (0-4, 7.07 ERA). The first pitch is at 7:05 p.m. with the pregame show beginning at 6:50 p.m. on KRKO.
