Anaheim Sends Beleskey To San Antonio

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned left wing Matt Beleskey to the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Beleskey, 21 (6/7/88), appeared in three contests for the Ducks this season, going scoreless with two penalty minutes (PIM). He made his 2009-10 season debut on Oct. 24 vs. Columbus, recording three shots on net in 11:44 time-on-ice (TOI). Beleskey was recalled by Anaheim on Oct. 23. Prior to his recall, he appeared in eight games with San Antonio, collecting 1-23 points with a +1 rating and 15 PIM.
Selected in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Beleskey appeared in two games with the Ducks last season, going scoreless while averaging 11:09 TOI. He made his NHL debut on Jan. 9, 2009 vs. Tampa Bay, recording a +1 rating in 13:53 TOI. Beleskey spent the rest of the season with Iowa (AHL), earning 11-2435 points with 58 PIM in 58 games. Among team leaders, Beleskey ranked fifth in scoring, tied for third in assists and tied for second in power play goals (6).
A native of Windsor, Ontario, Beleskey played four seasons with Belleville of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) from 2004-08, recording 98-191289 points with 467 PIM in 257 career games. In 2007-08, Beleskey collected 41-4990 points with 106 PIM in 62 games, finishing 13th in OHL scoring and ninth in goals. He led the Bulls and finished fourth among league leaders in postseason scoring (12-2133) en route to appearances in the OHL Championship Series and the Memorial Cup.
