March 19, 2009 - NBA G League (G League) - Anaheim Arsenal News Release

Anaheim, CA (March 18, 2009) - Bobby Jones scored 12 of his 22 total points in the fourth quarter as the Sioux Falls Skyforce came back to defeat the Anaheim Arsenal 101-98 at the Anaheim Convention Center. The Arsenal maintained control for most of the contest but were unable to protect a six point cushion with less than three minutes left in the game.

Both teams maintained a steady pace in the opening frame as both teams posted similar shooting numbers with Anaheim shooting 10-19 (52.6%) and Sioux Falls shooting 10-20 (50.0%). Cedric Bozeman led the Arsenal with 12 points in the period on his way to leading all scorers on the night with a season-high 32 points and added 6 rebounds and 6 assists to his totals. Sioux Falls guard Frank Williams scored 8 of his 19 total points in the first quarter and added 9 assists to finish the night.

Anaheim looked like they were going to break their three game losing streak in the second as they outscored Sioux Falls 29-19 and controlled the pace in the period. Anaheim center Marcus Campbell scored 6 points in the quarter and finished the night with a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. C.J. Giles came off the bench and scored 9 of the Skyforce's 19 points in the period and ended with 23 points to lead the Skyforce in scoring.

Sioux Falls jumped back in the game in the third quarter with the aggressive play of Chris Ellis. After coming up with a steal, Ellis set up an alley oop dunk to Frank Williams which started the Skyforce rally. Ellis wrapped up the night with 11 points and 14 rebounds to collect his fifth double-double on the season.

The Arsenal were able to hold onto a lead until a little more than two minutes remained in the contest. Frank Williams tied the game with two free throws and the Arsenal were unable to recover after that. C.J. Giles sank two free throws with four seconds left to give the Skyforce an additional cushion but Anaheim was unable to make anything happen against the Sioux Falls defense.

Anaheim will remain at home and hope to break their four game skid against the Iowa Energy on Friday, March 20th at 7:00 p.m. Sioux Falls will continue their road trip by traveling up to Bakersfield to take on the Jam on Saturday, March 21st with tip off at 7:00 p.m.
