Anaheim Arsenal Play Ball With OCARC

March 25, 2008 - NBA G League (G League)
Anaheim Arsenal News Release

Anaheim, Calif. - The Anaheim Arsenal visited 200+ members and staff of the OCARC yesterday for a basketball skills exhibition, Q&A session, and autograph signing.

Head coach Reggie Geary, along with guards Mike Efevberha and Mike Gansey, represented the Arsenal and showed the supportive crowd a great time. Both Gansey and Efevberha demonstrated ball handling skills and then raced some of the OCARC members in a ball handling competition. Efevberha and Gansey lost their respective competitions, however, coach Geary did play a big part in determining the outcome.

A division of the OCARC, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people with developmental disabilities live independent lives, OCARC - Family Connections, brought a group out to an Arsenal game on Friday, March 21st, when Anaheim defeated the Idaho Stampede in a come from behind victory after being down 19 points.

The OCARC helps their members find work and earn paychecks to make them feel more part of the Orange County community. Each person from the group that came out to watch the game used his/her own money to pay for a ticket. Ed Villarreal, Resource Developer for OCARC - Family Connections, who coordinated both the group night and the OCARC visit, had this to say, "Thank you to the Arsenal players and staff for coming out. We really appreciate them spending the time to stop by and say hello."

For more information about the OCARC and how you can contribute to this great organization, please call (714) 744 - 5301 or visit www.OrangeCountyARC.org.

The Arsenal play tomorrow night against the Austin Toros at the Arena at the Anaheim Convention Center at 7:30pm. For tickets or more information on the Arsenal please call 714.635.2255 or visit www.anaheimarsenal.com.
