
Amerks Prepare for Three-Game Homestand

(Rochester, NY)... In the "Wizard of Oz," Dorothy Gail clicked her heels together and recited the famous line: "There's no place like home."
Similar to the phrase in the classic movie, the Rochester Americans will return "home" to play seven of the next eight games. The Amerks longest home swing of the season begins with a three-game homestand this weekend. Rochester hosts the Barons, Wolves and Admirals, "Oh, my!" Cleveland, Chicago and Norfolk are off to the Flower City this week.
On Friday, November 8th, the wizard won't be coming to town but the Barons, who will try to keep their division rivals winless. The Amerks are 0-6-4-2 and in fourth place in the Central Division. The Barons (3-6-1-0) are in third place, one point ahead of the Amerks. The Barons are tied with a division-leading three road wins. The game is the first of eight meetings between the two teams. The game will be broadcast on WHTK 1280-AM and on the web at www.amerks.com.
On Sunday, the Amerks won't have to worry about flying monkeys, but the bite of the defending Calder Cup Champion Chicago Wolves. The Wolves make their only trip to Rochester this weekend. The Wolves (2-6-1-1, six points) hold down fourth place in the West Division. The Amerks own a 1-0-1-0 all-time record against the Wolves. The last time Rochester hosted Chicago, the Amerks skated to a 4-0 win on February 18th. The 6:05 p.m. contest will be broadcast on WHTK 1280-AM and on the web at www.amerks.com.
The final game of the homestand features the top team in the South Division, as the Norfolk Admirals sail into Rochester on Veteran's Day. The 4:05 p.m. game will be broadcast on WHTK 1280-AM and on the web at www.amerks.com. The Admirals (8-0-1-2, 19 points) are currently the only team in the American Hockey League without a loss â which does not include two overtime blemishes. Following the game, there will be an autograph session in the upper atrium lobby.

Jason Botterill: He leads the team with six goals in 12 games.
Sean McMorrow: The rookie leads the AHL with 79 penalty minutes.
Francois Methot: He has four points (2+2) in his last four games.
Ryan Miller: He is seventh in the AHL with a 2.38 goals-against average.
Last four games: The Amerks are unbeaten in three of the last four games... Rochester has three ties, which includes a 2-2 tie Sunday night at Hamilton.
