Mattias Weinhandl notched a goal and an assist on Friday and scored the game's only goal on Saturday as Bridgeport recorded a two-game sweep of Saint John at Harbour Station, winning 6-3 and 1-0. Trent Hunter extended his scoring streak to eight games with three points over the weekend, and Rick DiPietro turned aside 31 shots each night, including his fifth career AHL shutout.

Manchester extended its unbeaten streak to eight games (7-0-1) with a 2-1 overtime win in Portland on Saturday night. The Monarchs outshot the Pirates by a 50-19 margin on the night, but needed rookie Jared Aulin's goal in the opening minute of OT to earn the win. Maxime Ouellet turned aside all 29 shots he faced in the second period alone and finished the night with 48 saves, his third straight game with more than 40 stops.

Justin Papineau, Greg Davis and Steve Bancroft all scored during a five-minute power play in the third period to help Worcester past St. John's on Sunday, 6-4, handing the Maple Leafs their fourth straight loss to start a seven-game road trip. Blake Evans scored twice and Scott Stirling, son of Bridgeport head coach Steve Stirling, made 21 saves in his AHL debut for the IceCats.

Steve Maltais scored 2:27 into overtime to give Chicago a 7-6 win over Milwaukee on Sunday, ending the Wolves' eight-game winless streak and handing the Admirals their first loss of the season. The game featured five power play goals (four by Chicago), two shorthanded tallies (both by Milwaukee) and four goaltenders, and the Admirals erased a three-goal deficit to force overtime. It was the Wolves' first win in six one-goal games this season.
