P-Bruins Lead Eastern Conference

The Providence Bruins begin the week atop the North Division and Eastern Conference standings with their 7-2-2-1 record (17 points). Head coach Mike Sullivan's club has won three of its last four games, including 7-3 victories over the weekend against the St. John's Maple Leafs (Friday) and Springfield Falcons (Sunday). The Bruins have taken at least a point in the standings in six consecutive games.

Bruin right wing Lee Goren was named Sher-Wood AHL Player of the Week for the period ending November 3 on Monday. The 24-year-old native of Winnipeg, Manitoba notched 4-6-10 totals in four games last week as the Bruins posted a 3-0-0-1 record. Goren posted 2-2-4 totals in a 6-4 win at Binghamton on Wednesday, followed by a 2-1-3 effort, including the game-winning goal, in a 7-3 victory over St. John's on Friday. He assisted on three goals in a 7-3 win over Springfield on Sunday. Goren ranks second on the Bruins with 7-8-15 totals in 12 games. Pawtucket Youth Hockey will receive five travel bags from Sher-Wood in honor of Goren's achievement.

Providence center Keith Aucoin will be in studio on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. on COX 3's show, "Sports Page Live". Program host A.J. Vittone and Providence-Journal beat writer Joe McDonald will interview Aucoin, followed by phone calls from viewers. The Bruins will begin their seventh season of their successful "Tip-A-Bruin Nights" on Tuesday, November 5 at Dave & Buster's in the Providence Place Mall from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Bruin players will help out the waitstaff, as well as sell raffle tickets for Bruins memorabilia and discounted game tickets. All proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Matt Herr, Jay Henderson, Darren VanOene and Lee Goren will participate.

The Bruins return to action on Friday, November 8 at 7:05 p.m. when they host the Hartford Wolf Pack.
