
Americans Open Home Weekend against Winterhawks

Kennewick, WA - The Americans will open a back-to-back home game weekend tonight as they take on the Portland Winterhawks at the Toyota Center.
The Americans and Winterhawks meet tonight for the the sixth time this season. Tri-City leads the head-to-head series with three wins including two shootout victories. The home team had won each game until the Americans defeated the Winterhawks in Portland in their most recent meeting last Saturday.
Portland's Gabe Klassen leads head-to-head scoring with three goals and five assists. For the Americans, Petr Moravec leads scoring with three goals and three assists. Tri-City has faced Portland netminder Dante Giannuzzi in all five meetings so far. Nick Avakyan has one win and one loss against Portland while Tomas Suchanek has yet to play in net against the Winterhawks.
The Americans last played on Sunday in Everett as they wrapped up a three-in-three weekend. Tri-City found success on the power play as they scored all three of their goals with a man-advantage. They ultimately were unable to hold off the Silvertips and fell 6-3.
Tri-City's goals were scored by Connor Bouchard, Ethan Ernst, and Tyson Greenway. With an assist on Ernst's goal, Sloan is now on a six game point streak, with a point tonight he will match his previous point streak of a career-high seven games. Marc Lajoie had a pair of assists on Sunday. Suchanek played the full game in net, turning aside 35 of 41 shots faced.
