
Americans Make It Two in a Row Over Texas with A, 3-2 Win

Allen Texas - The Allen Americans defeated the Texas Brahmas 3-2 on Saturday, night in front of 5,009 at the Allen Event Center.
The Brahmas opened the scoring in the first, netting one of two power play goals on the night. TJ Fox parked all alone in front of the Allen net followed up a Chad Woolard shot to give the Brahmas a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.
Erik Spady added to the Brahmas lead in the second scoring just his fifth of the season on the power-play, blasting a one-timer from the right point that found the back of the net to give Texas a 2-0 lead. The Americans finally get on the board at the 14:37 mark when Erik Adams broke in alone on Brahmas netminder Kenny Carroll,beating him with a wrist-shot to the left side of the net to cut the Texas lead to 2-1.
The Americans scored two more times in the third period on goals by Bruce Graham, and Brett Clouthier to give Allen their first lead of the night. Americans netminder Rejean Beauchemin making his third straight start, stood strong down the stretch as the Americans would hold on for the win and make it two in a row over the Brahmas.
The Americans welcomed Lord Stanley's Cup to the building on Saturday night along with former Dallas Stars Mike Modano, Craig Ludwig, and Eddy Belfour. The three former Stanley Cup winners were on ice before the game for a pregame ceremony.
The Americans return to action on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 PM against these same Texas Brahmas. www.allenamericans.com.
