Allen Americans News Release

Brampton, Ontario - The Allen Americans face the Brampton Beast tonight at 6:35 pm CST, in the second of three games in four nights in Southern Ontario.

The Americans still lead the Central Hockey League in points with 15, one ahead of Rapid City for the top spot overall, however Rapid City has three games in hand on Allen.

Alex Lavoie scored late in the third last night to cut the lead to 4-3, however Brampton held on for the victory in the first meeting ever between the two clubs. Lavoie now leads the Americans in points with 13, and leads all rookies in scoring in the CHL.

Brampton is led by forward Rob Collins with nine points (2 goals and 7 assists). Collins had a goal last night for the Beast, who were playing just their 4th home game of the season. Jason Pitton, brother of Allen Americans netminder Bryan Pitton, stole the show with three points, a goal and two helpers in the Brampton victory.

Allen scored their third shorthanded goal of the 2013-2014 campaign last night when Spencer Asuchak found the back of the net. He joins Jarret Lukin and Trevor Ludwig, who have also scored shorthanded this season.

Milestone Night - Americans forward and Calgary native, Jarret Lukin, will play in his 400th professional game tonight, and appropriately, last season's Defensive Forward of the Year will play it in Canada.
