Allen Americans News Release
When the Allen Americans are not busy in the rink they definitely keep active off the ice! December is a very busy month for the Allen Americans as they try to give back support they've received year-round from the community. Below are places you can catch a glimpse of your Allen Americans in addition to upcoming events, charities and holiday celebrations. Between all the functions this holiday season, you're bound to "Ëcheck' into an Allen American.
Upcoming Events
Special Appearances:
â- Radio Show - December 1st, 7-8pm - Allen Americans Radio Show hosts the goalies and staff at the Down Under Pub in the Village at Fairview Station.
Charities & Donations:
â- Teddy Bear Delivery - Week of December 12th -15th - The Allen Americans will be delivering Teddy Bears to hospitals donated from gracious fans of the "ËTeddy Bear Toss.'
â- Toys for Tots - December 7th - Allen Americans will be hosting an annual "ËToys for Tots' at the Allen Event Center.
Holiday Fun:
â- Allen City Tree Lighting - December 2nd, 7-9pm - Allen Americans Mascot Biscuit, the Bulldog and Ice Angels will appear at the Allen City Tree Lighting event at the Allen Civic Plaza with live entertainment and more holiday festivities.
â- Rudolph Run - December 3rd starting at 7:30am - Wake up bright and early with Biscuit and the Ice Angles to run or walk the annual city Rudolph Run.
â- Christmas Parade "" December 4th at 1:00pm "" Allen American players, Biscuit and the Ice Angels will be at the Christmas Parade at the Allen Station Skate Park.
Kids' Corner:
â- Jr. Americans Mites' practice - November 30th, 6:15-7:15pm - Some Allen American players will be at the Jr. Americans Mite's hockey practice helping the kids on the ice by giving key tips and advice
â- Shopping Spree - December 12th - Players will accompany about 25 children to Dick's Sporting Goods for a shopping spree to coach them on what to buy for hockey
â- Elementary Schools - Throughout the next few weeks the Allen Americans will be stopping by different Elementary Schools speaking with children about leadership, answering questions, and reading books aloud to the kids.
Where We've Been
â- Hockey 101 - November 29th, 7-8pm - Allen Americans and staff hosted a Hockey 101 providing fun information along with a Q&A for the Heritage Ranch community. Americans players Colton Yellow Horn, Mike Berube, along with former player Erik Adams attended.
Upcoming Games
The Americans return to action this Friday night at NYTEX Sports Centre against the Texas Brahmas at 7:30 PM. Allen returns home on Thursday December 8th against the Wichita Thunder with a special appearance on that night by the Zooperstars.
