
Bucks Fall to the Sundogs

LAREDO, TX: The Laredo Bucks, of the Central Hockey League, were defeated by the Arizona Sundogs 3-1 on Tuesday night.
The Laredo Bucks faced the Arizona Sundogs for the fourth time this season. The Bucks led the series 2-1 coming into Tuesday's game. The Sundogs were the first to get on the board taking advantage of two powerplay opportunities. Jeff Hazelwood scored at 12:07 and Luke Erickson scored at 16:03. The first period was filled with penalties, 11 penalties were called for a total of 22 penalty minutes. The period ended with the Bucks behind the Sundogs 2-0.
The Laredo Bucks began the second period with 39 seconds left on the man advantage, but were unable to light the lamp. Each team was awarded two additional powerplays during the frame, but no goals were scored. The Bucks outshot the Sundogs 11-6 during the period of play.
Only 3:36 into the third period Justin Styffe dropped the mitts against Tyler Matheson of the Sundogs. Shortly after the altercation, at 4:46, Matt Pierce scored his first goal as a Laredo Bucks. This cut the Arizona lead to one goal. The Bucks pulled Ryan Rondeau during the final minutes of play, but the Sundogs were able to find the empty net giving them a 3-1 lead to end the game.

The Laredo Bucks are encouraging everyone attending the Saturday, December 3rd game to bring a new unwrapped toy to the game. All toys donated will be distributed to the pediatric patients at Doctors Hospital.
