Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans (46-17-4-2), ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, beat the Tulsa Oilers on Saturday night 3-2 in front of 5,205 at Allen Event Center.
Jamie Murray was the best player on the ice for either team, stopping 40 shots in 42 attempts from the Tulsa Oilers. Murray was named the number one star of the game with his best performance of the season.
"It was good to get back out there," said Murray on the Americans broadcast after the game. "I've been working hard in practice waiting for my chance. We have the best goalie in the league in Riley Gill, so I know I have to be ready when Coach Martinson tells me it's my turn."
Bryan Moore continued to be red hot for Allen with two more goals, and now has five in his last three games. He scored numbers 26 and 27 on the season, as he nears the 30 goal mark for the first time ever. Moore has a career high in both goals and points this season.
Tyler Barnes netted his ninth of the season, and third since being reassigned to Allen. Joel Chouinard had his 8-game point streak come to an end tonight. Chad Costello notched an assist tonight, to reach 116 points on the season.
The Tulsa Oilers are now winless in their last ten games. Dmitri Ognev was voted the number three star of the game with a goal and an assist.
The Americans continue the homestand on Wednesday night, when the Wichita Thunder come to Allen for the final time this season. Tickets are on sale NOW at www.ticketmaster.com.
Americans owner, Jack Gulati will be at the Allen Event Center next Wednesday night (April 5th) to greet and mingle with fans. Come say hi to Jack and watch the Americans in their quest to win the Mountain Division.
