Tri-City Americans News Release

The Americans and Silvertips will meet tonight for the fourth time in their nine game season series.

Tri-City is 1-2-0-0 against Everett this season, falling 4-3 in their most recent matchup on November 11. The Silvertips come into tonight's game on a two-game losing streak, recently falling to Portland and Seattle, while the Americans have won their last six. Tri-City's current winning streak is their longest since October 2017.

The Americans most recently played on Saturday, as they earned a 4-3 Teddy Bear Toss night victory over Prince George in Kennewick.

Adam Mechura brought the bears 6:50 into the game with a power play goal. Drew Freer and Tyson Greenway each added goals later in the first period, giving the Ams a 3-0 lead heading into the second frame. Greenway is on a four game point streak with five goals and one assists over that period. Jordan Gavin scored Tri-City's last goal in the third period, recording the game-winner for the second straight night. Gavin has points in six straight games (3G, 4A). Lukas Dragicevic recorded one assist on Greenway's goal, extending his historic point streak to 21 games, tying Tyson Barrie for the longest point streak by a WHL defenseman since 2009. Tomas Suchanek played the full game in net, turning aside 23 of 26 shots faced. He now has 13 victories, already surpassing last year's total of 12.

The Americans will be without Adam Mechura and Tomas Suchanek tonight as they have departed to compete with Team Czechia at the World Juniors Championship.
