Allen, Texas - The Fort Worth Brahmas scored the only goal in the shootout, as they would get two points in a 4-3 win over the Allen Americans.

Kale Kerbashian opened the scoring for the Americans in the first, netting a power play goal, his fourth of the season at the 7:12 mark, Brett Skinner and Tyler Ludwig with the Allen assists. After Ross Rouleau tied it for Fort Worth, the Americans would answer with their second power play goal of the period when Brian McMillin followed up a rebound in front of the Brahmas net for his eighth goal of the year, to give Allen a 2-1 lead after twenty minutes of play.

After a scoreless second period, the Brahmas would get back to back goals from Shawn Szydlowski, and Chad Woollard in the third as Fort Worth grabbed their first lead of the night 3-2. The Americans would score their third power play goal of the game at the 15:27 mark of the final period, when Tyler Ludwig fired one past Brahmas goalie Brad Fogal to even the score at 3-3.

A scoreless overtime period would send the game to a shootout. Sy Nutkevitch would score the only goal in the shootout as the fifth and final shooter of the night for the Brahmas, who snuck out of Allen with a 4-3 win to climb within four points of first place Allen.

"We had some positives come out of the loss," said Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson, during his Post-Game Press Conference. "The three power play goals we scored that was a positive. The negatives, we couldn't hold another third period lead, we give up a breakaway, and took some bad penalties. Our good players have got to be better in the third."

The loss was the Americans fourth straight at home and their seventh loss in their last eight games. Next up for the Americans is the Arizona Sundogs on Friday night at 7:05 pm at Allen Event Center.
