Americans Fall 3-1 on the Road in Kelowna

The Americans began a busy week of four games with a road match on Monday in Kelowna. Tri-City struggled to find their offensive stride as they fell 3-1 to the Rockets at Prospera Place.

Carson Golder opened scoring for Kelowna 5:40 off a set up in front of the net from Adam Kydd. The Rockets held on to their 1-0 lead into the first intermission after outshooting Tri-City 13-9 in the first period.

Lukas Dragicevic tied the game for the Americans midway through the second period. Chase Friedt-Mohr sent a breakout pass to Dragicevic in the neutral zone and the 2023 NHL Draft prospect set up in the high slot with a toe drag around Rockets defender John Babcock. He scored with a wrist shot over the the right shoulder of Kelowna's goaltender, Talyn Boyko.

Kelowna regained their lead with three minutes left in the second frame with a goal from Kydd. Marek Rocak added the insurance marker 45 seconds later.

Tomas Suchanek played in net for the Ams, turning aside 21 of 24 shots faced.
